The games and challenges on our site take place all over the world, so kids virtually travel to and learn about other cultures and countries both near and far.
The Kid Command team is dedicated to making the world a better place by educating, inspiring, and enriching the lives of children everywhere. In order to achieve that goal, the Kid Command site has been designed to be extremely easy to use and above all else…FUN! Our games incorporate both single and multi-player challenges as well as cutting-edge graphics, music and activities to ensure that kids won’t get bored.
The Kid Command concept is the product of parents just like you, who wanted a better online option for their own children. We like to think of our gaming site as an online “multi-vitamin” that encourages our kids to become a generation of more aware, more compassionate, and more proactive global citizens. Instead of getting the traditional virtual pet for which your child does nothing more than purchase things for, the Kid Command virtual pet is the earth itself! We are not buying and consuming items to materialistically spoil our virtual pet…we are finding creative and exciting ways to keep our earth healthy and flourishing for future generations to come!
In addition, Kid Command strives to get kids away from their computers and back to nature. What?! That’s right…you wouldn’t think that one of our goals would be getting kids away from their monitors, but remember…we are parents too. We believe that kids have lost a crucial link to nature. Kids of this generation play outside less than any other! While playing online games in moderation has value for cognitive development and 21st century skill-building, we also know that balance is essential. Many of our activities and projects in our mini games and quests actually take kids outdoors and teach them about nature and animals. In addition, our projects are environmentally themed; so when your child sits down to create something, he or she will most likely be repurposing and reusing items that would otherwise be sent to a landfill.
Kid Command was designed specifically for children ranging in age from 7 to 12.
However our site content is appropriate and fun for kids of all ages.
Upon registering, your child will be given an avatar, or character, that is customizable with fun options to help your child express his or her individuality. After that, your child will be given a passport and backpack…two items that will accompany your child on all of his or her exciting travels around the globe!
Members will then choose a club to be a member of, which instantly gives kids a sense of community as they will be meeting and working with other club members (who share similar interests) from around the world. Your child will start his or her Kid Command adventure in the geographic region of their choosing at one of our Acclimation Centers. This is where kids can learn about a particular region, acquire necessary supplies, meet our fun characters, and mingle with other Kid Command members. From there, the excitement begins as your child embarks on fun challenges and games that teach and reinforce positive ways that all of us can make a positive impact on the environment and wildlife around us!
Yes. Each member child’s passport will not only keep track of where he or she has been in the world, but it will also serve as a game log that keeps track of points earned. In addition, it will contain an “earth-ometer” that will record how well your child is doing to keep the earth healthy. The more points that are earned, the healthier the Kid Command earth will be. Long story short: as kids play and learn, they earn points and keep their E-H-S (Earth Health System) level high.
Extremely Safe! As parents, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of children. All of the content on the Kid Command site is created and maintained exclusively by Kid Command. While your child will be able to click around on our site, rest assured that everything they will be able to access will have been created and monitored by the Kid Command team. Kid Command works with environmental organizations around the world, and while we are happy to incorporate outside environmental information, we pre-screen and monitor all content to ensure its appropriateness. In addition, Kid Command does not incorporate product placement or outside advertising into its content as we feel this would be a compromise in our dedication to product quality and overall philosophy.
One day company founder, Collin Caneva, was bringing his kids home from their Tae Kwon Do class. They were begging him to stop and purchase an online plush toy. Exasperated by the lack of quality and purpose of these toys, coupled with their emphasis on consumerism and greed, Collin challenged his children to come up with a better product idea. This synergistic team has taken painstaking care to create Kid Command as a tool that empowers kids and families to become better global citizens who are working together to make the world a better place in their communities and beyond.
Yes! Kid Command is free to play and explore. For the ultimate virtual world experience, parents can purchase a Commander account for $8.95 per month. Commander accounts allow members to access new terrain releases, additional games, and to adventure on multi-level quests. Kid Command does not allow advertising, outside links, or product placement, so the minimal monthly subscription fee is a small price to pay for the unparalleled quality, enrichment and online safety that Kid Command provides. In addition, Kid Command takes 15% from each monthly subscription fee and places it in a grant fund that is used to promote the on-going work of excellent environmental organizations around the world.
Rather than generate operating revenue by bombarding kids with advertising messages and images, Kid Command has chosen to charge a reasonable monthly subscription rate that is less expensive than most other sites’ subscription rates and definitely less than the cost of a gaming console. Membership fees also help us to expand the virtual world, add new features, and upgrade our servers for the best experience possible.
