Brazil Region
The Amazon Rainforest region in Brazil. The main focus is on deforestation and how it affects the animals and plant life.

 

Buddy List
An avatar can select the Buddy icon and see a list of his or her friends and where those friends are in the virtual world. A new buddy can be added by double clicking on another avatar. An avatar can go to the same terrain as a buddy by selecting their name and clicking the arrow button.

The cool computer interface a child uses to customize an avatar.

 

Chat
Trainees and Kid Commanders can chat with other players in the virtual world. The Chat feature is accessed via the Hi icon. A safe chat system called “Kid Speak” filters inappropriate language, phone numbers and addresses.

 

Earth Health System
A healthy Earth is directly related to average playtime. The hours range from 0 to 60 hours per month. The more time played, the healthier the Earth. Kids need only log an average of 15 minutes per month to keep their Earth healthy.

 

Gift Cards
Virtual and plantable gift cards are available for purchase for several subscription amounts.

 

Guest
A non-paying player who gets a sneak peak at the virtual world. A guest has a basic avatar, can visit the NPC’s and learn about each region. Guests can also play the mini-games and one quest.

 

Hot Spots
Points of interest in the virtual world. Players mouse over and click on items to trigger fun facts about those items.

 

Kid Commander
A paying member of Kid Command. Kid Commanders have unlimited access to the entire Kid Command world. Fifteen percent of every Kid Commander’s monthly subscription fee is donated to environmental organizations through the KC Grant Fund.

 

Membership
Options:

$7.50 per month ($22.50 pre-paid for 3 months: save 20%)
$6.50 per month ($30 pre-paid for 6 months: save 30%)
$5.50 per month ($66 pre-paid for 12 month: save 40%)

 

Moderator
Kid Command staff that monitors the virtual world.  Moderators ensure kids are playing by the rules. They are also available should children want to report threatening behavior. Moderators can be called by clicking on the red icon with the white cross on the main interface.

 

Passport
Passports track each player’s progress in the virtual world. By using the passport, players can see what games and quests they have played; and what club they belong to. Players access their passport by selecting the green passport icon.

 

Point System
Kids earn points by completing games and quests. These points can be used to acquire travel gear and items as well as advance them to the next level. The levels are: Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Ruby. Players are rewarded with adventure gear and specialty items for advancing to the next level.

 

Terrain
A terrain is separate location within each region of the virtual world. A terrain could be a room, such as base camp – or an outdoor area.

 

Trainee
Trainees are non-paying players who have limited access to the Kid Command world. They can customize their avatar, join a club, chat with their friends, visit NPC’s to learn about the regions, and play all mini-games plus one quest.

 

Virtual World
A computer-generated, representation of a setting in which the user perceives themselves to be in and interacting within the technology and place.
